Bathroom Renovation Cost in Hyderabad (2026): Full Breakdown

28 September 2026 · 7 min read · By Livvouge Design Team

Renovated bathroom with two sinks, toilet and glass shower

Bathroom renovation is one of the most requested home upgrades in Hyderabad — usually because of leakage, old GI pipes or simply tiles that look 15 years old. Here's what it costs in 2026, what drives the price, and what you should never skip.

Bathroom renovation cost at a glance

Type of renovationTypical cost (5×8 ft bathroom)What's included
Refresh₹65,000 – 1 LNew fittings, vanity, mirror, partial tile change
Standard renovation₹1.2 – 1.6 LFull tile removal, new plumbing, waterproofing, tiles, mid-range fittings
Premium renovation₹1.8 – 2.5 LLarge-format tiles, wall-hung WC, glass partition, niches
Luxury bathroom₹2.8 L+Designer tiles, concealed cistern, rain shower, back-lit mirror

Indicative ranges. Bigger bathrooms, imported tiles and premium brands increase the cost.

Where the money goes

ItemApprox. share of budget
Demolition & debris removal5–8%
Plumbing (CPVC/UPVC lines, traps, diverter)12–18%
Waterproofing8–12%
Tiles & laying25–30%
Sanitaryware & CP fittings25–35%
Vanity, glass partition, ceiling, lighting10–15%

Never skip these three things

1. Waterproofing

Most "my bedroom wall is damp" problems start in the bathroom next door. A proper multi-coat waterproofing membrane on the floor and at least 1 ft up the walls (full height in the shower area) is the single most important step.

2. A 48-hour flood test

After waterproofing, the floor is filled with water and left for 48 hours. If nothing shows up below or next door, tiling can begin. Ask your contractor whether they do this — many don't.

3. Correct floor slope

Tiles must slope towards the drain so water doesn't pool. It's a detail you can't fix later without breaking the floor again.

How long does it take?

A typical bathroom takes 10–15 working days: 1–2 days demolition, 2 days plumbing, 3–4 days waterproofing with curing and flood test, 3–4 days tiling, and 2–3 days for fittings, glass and finishing.

Ways to save without cutting corners

  • Spend on waterproofing and plumbing; save on decorative tiles.
  • Use large-format tiles on walls — fewer joints, faster laying, easier cleaning.
  • Choose a good mid-range diverter and mixer; they're used every day.
  • If there's no leakage, consider a refresh instead of a full strip.

FAQs

How much does it cost to renovate a bathroom in Hyderabad?

A full renovation of a standard 5×8 ft bathroom with waterproofing, new tiles and mid-range fittings typically costs ₹1.2–1.6 lakh. A simple refresh starts around ₹65,000 and premium bathrooms cost ₹1.8 lakh or more.

Is waterproofing necessary when renovating a bathroom?

Yes. Waterproofing prevents seepage into walls and the flat below. It should always be done after removing old tiles and before laying new ones, followed by a flood test.
